Preparation: Reserve a ParaID
The ParaID (Parachain ID) is a unique identifier for a parachain or parathread on the Polkadot, Rococo, or Kusama networks. To reserve a ParaID, follow these steps:
Polkadot-JS comprises a suite of tools that interface with the Polkadot blockchain, its parachains, and testnets such as Rococo in detail. If you are new to Polkadot, referring to this guide is recommended.
1. Open Polkadot-js APP: Navigate to the Network tab.
2. Select Parachains: Choose "Parathreads" and then click on "ParaID."
3. Submit a Request: Choose an account and submit your request.
Note:
- A deposit is required to reserve your ParaID.
- For Rococo testnet: The deposit amount is 40 ROC, you may visit the Polkadot Faucet to get ROCs as test token.
- For Kusama and Polkadot: The deposit amount 40 KSM / 100 DOT respectively.
Once you have reserved your ParaID, you can start using Magnet Stack.
